Your First Visit at PhysioVictory

What happens in the 60 minutes, what to wear, where to park, and what you leave with.

Your first visit is a 60-minute New Client Assessment, one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy in Conroe. You talk, we test how you move, and you leave with a clear picture of what is going on, a treatment plan, and recommendations you can start at home that day. It is $225, and no referral is needed to start.

Before you arrive

Fill out the contact form or call (936) 549-0315. Our team reaches out, usually within a couple of hours on weekdays, to find a time and answer any questions. People who talk with the team first show up better prepared, so we ask everyone to start there rather than booking blind.

Finish your intake forms on your phone before you arrive so the whole hour goes to you. Bring any imaging reports or doctor's notes you have. Wear tennis shoes and loose clothing you can move in, like a t-shirt and yoga pants rather than leggings and compression gear.

Park near the west-facing entrance at 100 Commercial Circle. You will see our lion logo near the door by the ramp. Ring the doorbell and our staff will be ready to greet you.

The first 15 minutes: the recovery room

Every visit starts in the recovery room, which is designed to prepare your muscles and your nervous system for optimal response to the full treatment plan. A body that walks in from traffic and a full inbox is tense, and braced tissue does not respond well to hands-on work or testing. Depending on the plan for the day that might be Normatec compression, or infrared heat and vibration. It is not a waiting room; it is the first part of treatment.

The conversation

Then we sit down and you tell the whole story: what hurts, when it started, what you have already tried, what made it better or worse, and what you want to get back to. Most of our clients come to us after other care did not work, so we want to know what the last clinic did and what they did not look at. It is important to us that your care never feels cookie cutter or like a repeat of the 3 other things you have tried.

What we check

Pain is an output. The brain produces it in response to what the rest of the body is doing, so we look at the whole system, not just the spot that hurts. That means gentle testing of the joints, nerves, hips and core that are loading the painful area, loaded and unloaded, to find what is actually driving it. Often the answer is somewhere other than where it hurts: a stiff joint two levels away, an irritated nerve, a hip that is not doing its share, or a breathing and bracing pattern that keeps everything guarded.

We retest as we go, so you feel the difference the same day when something changes.

What you leave with on day one

Day one is a hands-on evaluation, not a treatment session. Establishing care, working out fully what is going on, and building a treatment plan takes the whole hour for most clients. You leave with recommendations for changing your recovery strategies at home so relief can start on day one. Often the first step is removing the inputs that are keeping the problem alive, like aggressive stretching or daily deep pressure work, before adding anything new. Hands-on treatment and dry needling, where they fit your case, begin at the follow-up visits.

You leave with a plan: what we found, how many visits it usually takes for a problem like yours, and what to do between visits. If what we see points to a physician first, we tell you that day and point you to the right one. We only take on cases we believe conservative care can help.

Pelvic floor first visits

If you are coming for pelvic floor or core care, the first visit is a similar style and fully clothed. There are no internal exams. We treat the pelvic floor as part of the abdominal pressure regulation system it belongs to, with the deep core, diaphragm and hips. Read more about pelvic floor therapy in Conroe.

Cost and what comes next

The New Client Assessment is $225 and is paid up front to hold the hour. Follow-up visits are 45 minutes and $199, charged to the card on file the day of each visit. We are cash-based and out of network; we give you a superbill for your insurance, and HSA and FSA cards work. Read how cost, insurance and superbills work.

If you continue, most clients book a standing weekly time a few weeks ahead so the work stays consistent. That is a reservation, not a contract. No referral is needed for the first 30 days; after that, or if you want a superbill, we get one on file with your doctor.

Questions people ask

Do I need a referral for the first visit? No. Texas direct access lets you see a licensed physical therapist for up to 30 days without one.

Will I be treated on the first visit, or just evaluated? The first visit is designed to establish care and determine fully what is going on, as well as develop a treatment plan. This alone takes a full hour for most clients. You should expect to leave with recommendations for modifying your recovery strategies at home to begin getting relief day one. We do not include hands-on treatment day one. Day one is a hands-on evaluation.

Is it really one-on-one? Yes. Allow 60 minutes for this appointment. No double-booking, and nobody leaves you in a corner with a sheet of exercises to figure out.

What if you find something you cannot help? We tell you that day and point you to the right physician. You still leave with answers.

Can I bring someone with me? Yes. A spouse, parent or friend is welcome in the room.
